Children and Youth Singing Festival SONG OF THE FUTURE

is an open and inclusive space where young voices get the opportunity to resonate, grow and inspire. In cooperation with the Municipality of Kamnik, the festival creates a vibrant cultural environment in which talent, creativity and courage of young artists meet. The festival is intended for children and youth aged 6 to 18, who, through singing, co-create the voices of the future. Soloists, duets and smaller chamber groups (up to five members) will perform on stage, showcasing a wide variety of musical genres with their interpretations - from pop, jazz and rock to classical music and other related genres.

The festival's mission is to create a safe, encouraging and inspiring environment where young singers can perform without pressure. Every performance is an opportunity for growth, and every applause is a confirmation of courage and dedication to music. The festival encourages love of music, creativity and self-confidence , and allows young singers to gain valuable stage experience and the joy of performing. All festival participants receive participation certificates, which are a tribute to their effort, courage and creativity, and an encouragement for their further musical journey. A professional and independent jury will also recognize some particularly promising voices . They will receive additional attention and encouragement in the form of special recognitions or awards to support their further growth.

Dear parents, mentors, singers, and all music lovers,

We invite you to register your singers for the 1st Children and Youth Singing Festival Pesem Prihodnosti (Song of the Future), which will take place on Saturday 9 May, and Sunday 10 May 2026, at the Dom kulture Kamnik.

The festival is intended for young singers aged 6 to 18, divided into three age groups and five ensemble categories.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Each participant must complete the application form. If a group of 2–5 singers is applying, each member of the group must complete the application form.
The application must be submitted by one of the parents or the legal guardian of the singer aged 6–18.
Mentors and teachers may assist with the application but cannot be the official applicants.

WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION FEE?

A one-time registration fee of €20 must be paid when submitting the application. In case of group singers (2-5 members), each member of the group must fill out a registration form and cover his/her registration fee. When an individual registers for more than one performances (eg. solo and group), registration fee is paid only once. The registration fee is non refundable.

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO CONFIRM PARTICIPATION?

Each application will be reviewed to confirm suitability for participation in the festival.

To confirm participation, one of the following is required:

1. VIDEO AUDITION: A YouTube, Dropbox, WeTransfer, or other online link to a recording of the song performed by the applicant(s).

The recording may be made with a phone, at home, or elsewhere — the recording quality will not affect the acceptance decision.

2. LIVE AUDITION: Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Glasbena šola DoReWe,Glavni trg 12, Kamnik. (The audition time will be confirmed after registration.) For live auditions, the instrumental backing track must be sent in advance to pesem.prihodnosti@gmail.com in MP3 format, with a maximum length of 5 minutes.

WHEN IS THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE?

The deadline is short — applications are accepted until April 17, 2026 (midnight).
Submitting an application means that participants may take part in all festival events (semi-final and final performances).

WHO IS ON THE JURY AND WHO ADVANCES TO THE FINAL?

The festival will be evaluated by a professional and independent jury composed of vocal mentors and music performers.
To identify especially promising singers, the jury will score performers based on:
- Intonation
- Interpretation and expressiveness
- Overall impression
At the semi-final performances (Saturday, May 9, 2026), all applicants whose participation has been confirmed through the video or live audition will perform.
Up to 10 best participants in each age group will advance to the final performances (Sunday, May 10, 2026).

CERTIFICATES AND AWARDS

At the festival, all participants will receive a certificate of participation, which represents a tribute to their effort, courage, and encouragement for their further musical journey.

Among the performers, a professional and independent jury will also recognize some particularly promising singers. They will receive additional attention and encouragement in the form of special recognitions or awards to support their further development.

90 – 100 points – GOLD CERTIFICATE
80 – 89 points – SILVER CERTIFICATE
70 – 79 points – BRONZE CERTIFICATE
0 – 69 points – CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION

AWARDS WITHIN EACH GROUP

First age group 3 participants: FIRST, SECOND, THIRD PRIZE
Second age group 3 participants: FIRST, SECOND, THIRD PRIZE
Third age group 3 participants: FIRST, SECOND, THIRD PRIZE

Audience Choice Award : Each viewer of the final selection can vote for one participant.

"VOICE OF THE GENERATION" Award : A prize of 500 euros for a particularly promising male or female singer from all three age groups, as selected by the jury.
